Rose can't actually empathize. She's spent so much of her life alone. Even if she could have someone here with her, well- It'd be confusing and conflicting the people she'd like to tag along. So, she thinks it's better that she's flying solo for now. ]

[With a small smile, Max turns the photo around to show Rose once the image has fully appeared. It's cute, at least in Max's opinion.]

Definitely. To both parts of that. But... I hadn't really decided what else to do yet, or next.

[She casts a glance around them, unsure. There was food, of course, but...]

Hey. Does it seem off to you at all that the story is about loving someone half-octopus, yet the celebration includes eating octopus?

[ Oh, no, that is adorable. Is it going to go on the fridge? She'd be honored, truly. ]

Well, there's a ton of stuff to do! We can eat, play some games, there's even some dancing going on I think...

At the question though, Rose can't help but laugh. ]

[She stares a little blankly at Rose for a moment after the tentacle talk, realizing not for the first time just how surreal this all is.]

...I can't believe I'm in a place where "people tentacles" is even a thing.

[ A photowall is just as good. The idea is actually bit... strange. She's been in pictures before, of course, but usually not intentionally. It was something to avoid back home just in case. ]

Oh, so a private dancer only? Maybe I'll get to see someday! But I totally understand and the games are cool so-

[ Off they go to see what ones are available. ]

[One day Max will have to show it to her.

Her smile widens some, and then she admits as they walk along to look:]

Private only because I'm not great at it. I like to limit how many people get to see me embarrass myself.

[It's definitely been a hot minute since she last played carnival games. She won a goldfish once? Unfortunately it hadn't lived very long.]

So you've played some of these already?

[ Which she does seem to mean sincerely. ] I like to laugh at myself but know it's not for everyone. [ Not everyone can be quite so bold. Her job kind of lends itself to being a little bit... louder. In many senses of the word. ]

A couple. They're surprisingly not that rigged. These Prismals seem actually super kind.

You could be. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

[It's said somewhat coyly, but she also means it. Honestly, she doesn't mind being an absolute goofball with friends, and she does like Rose. She seems like she'd be a fun friend to have.]

They do seem pretty friendly and straightforward.

[She eyes what appears to be a ring-toss game featuring moving tentacles as the targets for the rings. They're probably not real tentacles. Probably. Pushing the reminder of people-tentacles to the back of her mind, she looks back at Rose.]

Did you win any prizes?

[ Aw, yeah. Score. Fun is what she goes for so she'd honestly be glad to know that she's hitting her mark. ]

Yeah, it's... nice. [ The way she says it might seem to imply that she's not used to nice. (Spoilers: she isn't.) But! She's quick to follow Max's gaze to the tentacled ring game. Huh. That looks neat. There's also a trademark basketball game where the hoops are ridiculously high and the point seems to be to slingshot the basketball with a tentacle up to the top. ]

Yeah, I did a compatibility quiz with someone earlier? It kind of funny, we got a basket of sexy stuff that they said they'd drop it off at my place for me.

[Max looks at her with slightly raised eyebrows.]

"Sexy stuff?" I'm not sure I wanna know. Not hard to guess anyway, considering what we found when we arrived on the Iris moon before.

[She pauses to gesture at both games they've come across so far.]

You want to try one of these?

[ At that, Rose can only snicker. The guy she'd gotten trapped in the booth with hadn't seemed to want anything to do with it either in the end. ]

Yeah, uh- That sure was a thing. That seems to be kind of a thing here, I've noticed.

[ The blond stops to look at the game suggested; it looks like something like a weird ring toss with gravity effecting the play. Huh. ]

Alright, yeah! Why not? Let's give it a shot, maybe I'll win ya' something.
