disclaimer Rosie is a woman of Japanese descent and that influences many aspects of her character. While I try to be as accurate and sensitive as I can, I know I won't always get it right. Please don't be afraid to correct me if I am mistaken or seem uninformed on a topic.
Personality.
Rosie is a nightmare dressed up like a daydream; despite being all sunshine and smiles, she's hiding the fact that she's literally a monster who is supposed to eat people. Emphasis on the supposed to though because, well, she doesn't want to! That's kind of the whole issue. Rose just wants to be a normal everyday person and live a boring albeit musical life.
Unfortunately, she's super paranoid about being found out because of the stigma attached to her kind and being hunted throughout her life due to what she is. so while she's super outgoing and extroverted, eventually people will realize she's not really close to them. Scaling those walls can be difficult but on the other side, Rosie is a ride-to-die loyal friend who will protect those she cares for with everything she has.

Born a 'defective' yokai, Rosie has felt displaced her entire life. She was rejected by her pack and left to become a lone wolf from a very young age. Years of this isolation and alienation from her own kind (though she'd rather use the term 'independence') has made her a bit reluctant to rely on anyone besides herself.
She took a shady deal to enter the world of humans she'd felt a closer kinship with since she could remember. It led to her enslavement in a fighting ring for otherworldly creatures like her. They would battle to the death for entertainment and profit. Her previously gained self-preservation instincts served her well there. When slated for a breeding program to further the lineage of 'champions,' she and a friend plotted their escape. He didn't make it but ensured that she did.
The damage done on their way out has put a bounty upon her head. For a while, she traveled under the guise of a simple roadie. It allowed her to hide in plain sight whilst also following a love of music discovered during her darkest days in the fighting ring.
Eventually, she found her way into working as an informant for a fellow yokai who wished to break up the fighting rings they were both subjected to. It was only too late she realized that his goals were more intensive in scope than originally proposed. He wishes to actually swing the pendulum the other way and let demonkind reign in place of humanity. But he also promised her safety, security, and things she'd never thought possible so she keeps finding reasons to stay.
She's become a songbird in a gilded cage, trapped again just with nicer window dressings.

impressions.
visual. Rosie is 5'1", around 110lbs, and petite in build. Her hair is a strawberry blond color and eyes a dark brown. At a glance, she doesn't look like much beyond your average tiny Japanese lady. She usually wears make-up but just enough to hide any hints of exhaustion from how little she actually sleeps, even for her kind.
attire. Like she rolled right out of an underground Rock concert. Her typical wardrobe is loose-fitting obscure band T-shirts, jeans, and hair down and wild. While she can clean up quite well, she tends to prefer comfort over appearances when given the freedom to choose.
demeanor. To begin with, Rose is sunshine personified. She's fun, carefree, and doesn't seem to let much get her down for long. Once people start to get to know her, well- That's the thing. They'll realize they don't really know her. While it might seem like she's extremely open, she isn't actually telling anyone a lot about herself in the process. Getting any real sincerity or vulnerability out of her is difficult and she's more likely to lash out and try to push people away than let them truly in.
aural. She has a light, airy voice but talks like she's still stuck in the 90s and early 2000s of America. 'Dude' is used as a descriptor for most people, she uses dated catchphrases, and laments how music isn't what it used to be.
olfactory. To those with sharp senses, she smells contradictory. It's like fresh earth masking something rotting that hits someone unexpectedly. She uses perfumes and floral scents to hide this since, look, she knows but has no idea what it means.

shipping. absolutely! rosie tends to take more time romantically, but be about as down to fuck as anyone ever was. she prefers physical connection over emotional and will avoid the latter with the former.
she is a bit 'boy crazy' and easily gets fleeting, surface-level crushes on men. with women, she tends to have the problem of conflating jealousy and attraction due to the nature of her job meaning she tends to see other women as competition for the attention of men. once she gets over that or recognizes they aren't a threat to begin with, she's just as attracted to women as she is men.
smut. always! rosie's character is largely informed by sex and it's one of my favorite things to explore with her since her character arc as a whole is broadly to learn to value herself outside of her perceived attractiveness. that said: she is a very sexual being and enjoys it greatly. I prefer to write out smut, but am totally open to hand-waving hook-ups or background bangs as people wish/are comfortable with.
